Sleeping in Style

Sleeping in Style

The proper way to beauty rest.

I was recently sent silk sleeping mask and coordinating silk pillowcase from a lovely brand called SLIP. They pretty much opened my eyes (pun intended) to the importance of beauty rest - a concept I'm not entirely familiar with. I love to sleep - who doesn't? But I'm pretty sure I've been doing it all wrong. To truly achieve a relaxing nights rest, here are a few things you may want to try:

1. SLIP's line is all silk everything. They promote silk as a weapon used against aging, sleep crease and bed head. And you know what? They're not wrong at all. Ever since swapping my cotton pillowcase for my SLIP, no more bed head whatsoever. I'll have to wait a little while to report back on the other claims, but so far I'm loving how luxurious I feel when I lay my head down to sleep and now I'm in the market for the perfect silk robe.

2. I'm a total night owl and when I was younger it really effected my ability to get an ample amount of sleep before school. At some point, someone had gifted me some lavender spray for my pillow in hopes that the aroma therapy would help aid a quicker journey to dreamland, which it often did. Now, instead of spray for my pillow I've opted for an approach that can serve more than one purpose: facial oil. Press 5-6 drops on a clean face before bed and it's aroma will not only sooth you but you'll wake up feeling plump and fresh. I'm currently using Vintner's Daughter, but there are so many good ones out there. Give it a try! I'm obsessed.

3. Maybe the most obvious, but to be a true professional beauty rester, one must absolutely have a variety of bedtime outfits, also known as pajamas. Sleep in style, dream in style and wake up feeling like the boss that you are.

Here's a little round-up of some luxurious lounging attire that will hopefully get you inspired to be better at what we all love so much: sleeping. Sweet dreams!
